Vision

I believe that everyone has a purpose, and that my purpose is to relate to, connect with, teach, and help people overcome trials which are common to all. My path and vision have led me to develop ReciProty in order to achieve this purpose.  My vision for ReciProty comes from personal experiences, forged from many life-changing challenges.

I was raised on the New Jersey coast along with eight other children in a two-bedroom home. Coming from a tumultuous childhood, I know what it is like to grow up with limited resources and support. Without a nurturing relationship with my mother, I shadowed my hardworking father. I lived with different families and started working at an early age. The words, “If you want pity, look it up in the dictionary” are etched in my memory. I quickly developed the skills I needed to survive. At the age of 12, I managed my father’s gift shop. During the winters, I walked miles selling his items door-to-door, wheeling a wagon in the bitter cold. When I was 16, my mother passed away.

In my early 30’s, I found myself as a self-supporting, single parent, working long hours as a sales executive during the day, and with the elderly as a nurse at night. Many times, I worked 24 hours a day to make ends meet. I found myself relying upon faith, ambition, and tenacity to make it through each day. I believe that much of life is about endurance, but happiness and a positive mind-set make all the difference.

In my mid 30’s, I met my second husband, and relocated to Oregon with my son. I attained my third college degree, and for the past ten years, I have operated a successful business. In September of 2008, my husband was hospitalized for three months due to four brain abscesses. He survived several brain surgeries and months of rehabilitation. I could not have accomplished my daily tasks without the support of my friends and community.

To date, my father is now deceased, along with most of my siblings.  I am now a mother, small business owner, and entrepreneur. I have acquired over 20 years of personal and business networking experience. Looking back, if ReciProty had been developed, I would have had quick access to a neighborhood support network during my times of need. Thus came the inspiration and determination to create a way for others to benefit from such a network. Therefore, for the past three years, I have been working on developing ReciProty to assist many of you. ReciProty’s site combines the comforting sense of community, which was commonplace years ago, with today’s fast-paced modern technology.

I would like to thank my husband, children, friends, and colleagues. Most of all, I want to express my sincere gratitude to my team, the developers of this site, for turning my vision into reality. We are all hopeful that ReciProty can turn some of your trials and challenges into triumphs and victories. This site was designed to simplify life’s complexities. We would like to customize this site to meet your needs. Please visit our Contact Us page to give us your valued feedback.
